I have been enjoying the Eagle Football broadcasts when I haven't had an opportunity to be at the games. One of the things that I decided that I particularly like about the broadcasts is that you do not cut away for advertisements. Instead, all of the ads are done live. That gives a different sense to the broadcast - more like the feeling of just friends telling other friends about what is going on. The immediacy of the broadcast is not broken by cut-aways. I don't know if this style of programing was an intentional choice - I hope it was - but no matter, I find it very effective. It puts a distinctive and consistent voice on the radio. I grew up with radio - starting as a 4th grader in 1960. It was the primary medium in my life for many years, and I remember the home town stations vividly. Your broadcasts take me back to those days and sense of personality the was present. Keep up the good work.

Also, your fan base continues to grow from south Florida North Carolina, West Virginia to Michigan our entire family can't wait for Friday night Eagle football on the New Fish Radio. Keep up the Great work

Arte, a pleasure to meet you last week in Gainesville. I enjoyed our talk both on and off the air. To the folks out there listening, we have something here that most big towns and high schools do not have let alone the small ones. Appreciate The Fish and support it anyway that you can. GO EAGLES !

Stevie C. said:   September 29, 2007 10:49 am PST
Jeff...your comment is incorrect. And, why must you criticize this effort? How about we give this Fish radio the credit it is earning by doing without this kind of petty criticism? Yes, of course many local sports fans know there is a local sports station that has two local SPORTS talk shows. But think about it. 99% of the subject matter on those shows is all about what happens OUTSIDE of our local area in places like Tallahassee and Gainesville and Auburn and Tuscaloosa and all the other college and pro towns and cities they endlessly analyze. If you listen to the local games on the new Fish as you say you do, then you should just appreciate the fact that these guys care about what happens in our own area and what the local kids are doing - and that means specifically Niceville and the other LOCAL high school teams in the LOCAL area. The truth is the Fish is a just a little local RADIO station in Niceville that broadcasts local sports for local folks and, if you read some of these other postings, by family and friends around the world you would see this, and see just how good a thing that is. Besides, read again what it says about their new program. It says that it will apparently be about local news and sports and local events of interest to the local community - and not what the other local station talks about. And, what's not truthful about that? There's room for lots of things on radio. Sadly, there's just not enough local and these guys are not only talking the talk, they're walking the walk as well. I'm just glad they're here and doing this for us locals and leaving the rest of the regional and national stuff to the ESPN programs they also broadcast. Please, don't be so quick to point a finger, and give these guys a chance, will you?

I am the uncle of the Day twins and it's hard to be in Memphis and not be able to watch my boys play ball. Thanks to you guys, I don't miss a hit! Your commentary and your knowledge of the game and the players is truly awesome! Those boys are truly passionate about everything they set out to do and I think it shows. I speak for myself and my family when I thank you and the Niceville community for the hospitality and support that you have shown my nephews. Keep up the excellent work and thank you again for the excellent service you provide. We'll see y'all on November 2. GO EAGLES!
